Moisture Meter

When the two prongs on the meter are pushed into the wood a digital read will show how much moisture is in the wood. Anything more than 20% needs to be put back in the log basket; it will steam and not burn. To be sure of a good burn using seasoned wood  a moisture read of less than 15% is best.
